Faber-Castell sepia artist pens, JASC Paint Shop Pro 7.

Video game fanart of Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride for the DS.

One of the images I made for a gaming site I'm contributing to! The site's all up and we're still working on content, but I felt that helping to promote it on DA would be a good start too!

So please head to for fun random information about obscure or non-mainstream games, and even to just participate in the forums.

Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride

OMG Toriyama, your style is so hard to imitate! XO
One of my favourite themes: children dreaming about their bright futures!

That's a lot of characters in one page.. kind of painful!
My only concern with the image was whether or not I drew them too out of character, but I'll let the fans fight about that. >.>

You did an excellent job imitating Toriyama! I'm impressed.

This picture is bittersweet to a player who has already played the game seeing two children tied to a cruel destiny, but strong enough to overcome it all.  Very great work!

Those kids are just having so much fun randomly staring at the sky (Look at Hero's oblivious grin, don't you just want to make it obvious that his Luck stat is clearly lacking by killing off his father and separating him from both his childhood friend and dat adorable kitty?) they no longer care that Pankraz is doing his damnedest to noogie them to death and, it seems, is laughing his arse off about it too. XD

Meanwhile Magical Adult Saber sleeps, because he's from the future and all this has already happened in this timeline. He's having a slime-shaped nightmare about a giant blue slime eating him, Hero, Bianca, Nera and Debora...Or maybe it's a nostalgia moment? Although I fail to see how Mr Briscoletti wouldn't flip at the sight of a cheiger-monster-thing in his super-luxurious mansion, which is the only place Saber could feasibly meet all three of the girls, barring Bianca as she's the one who suggested saving him from the bullies...and going into a monster-infested castle full of evil things that want to eat us despite the fact that all that would have been needed to prove we'd been there would be a stone or a bit of fancy carpet. But oh well. At least we have a kitty. :iconkittyplz: No. Not that kitty. More like THIS kitty, but still with red hair. :iconkittycatplz:

(The only thing that irks me here is, Saber and the Hero were a cub-and-kiddo team together, which makes it a bit odd that Saber's so huge in this as he should have been a cub. o3o)

LOL that is some convoluted possible explanation of the picture~! XD
The important things is.. I imaged to squeeze the relevant characters in... u_U lol

Oh, I figured since Saber was a cub of a huge cat, then he'd be a pretty big cub. Like this picture:… He's about the same size as the kids, right? lol

Nyeh, huge cat is the size of a pony, give-or-take a few inches. That'd still make cub saber about the size of a large dog...
You did get all the relevant characters in, though, and I could probably never draw humans that well! Kudos on that.
Which is why some part of me sadistically felt satisfied when I used the mod rod to turn into an adorable lisping imp that's far weaker than your human characters naturally, but oh-so-much cuter and easier to draw. X3

Seriously though, those adorable toasting-fork-wielding little derps are probably my favorite 'cute' monster because of their speech tic (Who doesn't love ''We wouldn't lithen thoo thath Baalzack, ecthept Lord Ptharo thold us to''?) and the fact they think they're strong monsters as IMPlied (feel free to groan at the pun) by certain dialogue despite the fact you can one-shot them pretty early on in the game.

Well, actually, I got the Karstaway stone by chance just after clearing Femiscyra's plotline (having almost run out of HP and moored my boat at the first coastline I saw, I ended up in Dunplundrin), I immediately got my arse to exploring all the world's caves, got the sands of time and liquid metal sword and leveled up a bunch in the process. Now I one-shot just about anything short of a boss. XD

Be my sensei, person. Seriously. I need to learn to draw that well without using references... :iconbegplz:

I really loved this picture... to see the main character "Abel" which I have heard his canon name is with his father and future bride.
