SGPA Young Justice base - Female by Meibatsu SGPA Young Justice base - Female by Meibatsu
November 3, 2011

Paint Tool SAI.

EDIT January 14, 2013: Updated the base slightly. Not much difference, but changed the line to be thinner and tweaked the positioning ever so slightly.

A base in a Young Justice type of style so that you can make super heroines or whatever else you want!

Courtesy of:
:iconsgpa:!
If you use the base, please credit it back to #SGPA and =Meibatsu! You can upload it onto DA or anywhere else. Just don't use it for commercial purposes (selling prints, etc.).

On the base is a neutral expression with typical female eyes found in Young Justice. The body shape is of a typical 15-16 year old fit female.

On the right are alternate mouth shapes with outlines for the lips that you can put in instead.
I also included alternate eyes and eyebrow shapes that you can swap in.
Just cut and paste! Mix and match!

Alter the base shape as you desire according to your needs.
Add clothes and hair and colour it in!
You can also print it out and help get some anatomy or drawing practice too~!

THESE BASES ARE NOT TO BE USED AS CONTEST ENTRIES.

An example making Young Justice's M'gann M'orzz can be found here:

Love this base! I've been using it to practice drawing clothes for my oc (not a young justice one sadly).
Link to what I've done so far.

Glad you found it helpful!

I don't have much time right now to do hairstyles and action poses, but I have though a little about it, so maybe in the future I'll be able to.

That sounds great, I'm currently working on trying to make my character on my extremely low tech computer experimenting with paint.

the hips are kind of wide dont you think?

They are perhaps a tad wide, especially if you want to make a 13-14 year-old, but it's how I like drawing them. xD Makes them look stronger?

And I think M'gann in the example looks fine.

Why not?
Don't have any art programs?

Most programs should accept the .png format.
If not, I can try reuploading it as a .jpg.

I tried using it on paint but it's too pixelated to work with. Other then that I don't have any other art programs to use.

Well, if you want to try downloading a free art program that would make making computer art a bit easier, you can try Paint.Net or GIMP. That way you can put the lineart on top of the colours (multiply mode) and you won't have to deal with the pixelyness. I've tried both of these out and they're pretty good for free!

Paint.NET
[link]
A very simple program to use (an extended MSpaint, with layers and such). The downside is that you should put your text on a separate layers because it cannot be edited once it is put down. If there is a typo, you can delete the layer and start over. There are a number of other plugins you can install with Paint.NET (such as a Photoshop compatibility plugin that will allow you to open .psd files). Only works on Windows operating systems (not for Macs or Linux).

GIMP
[link]
GIMP is a flexible program. It features layers, editable text, different brush settings, many filters, and more. A lot like Photoshop, except it's free and the interface is a bit more like many different widgets on the desktop instead of staying in one program window. If you dont' have access to Photoshop, this program is greatly reccommended for its comparable flexibility for no cost, although the user interface takes a while to get used to. Compatible with Windows, Mac OSX, and Linux.

Ah, that's really weird!
If you can view it online, you should be able to download and save it fine. And it's not that huge either! Under half a meg.. lol

Gah...a meg is too much for my tastes XD

My Mac doesn't let it be downloaded that way. It has to be on a CD.
